My camera and binoculars, protected by the light coat I had packed, were wet but fully functional. The Red-winged Blackbirds were wet. I had thought that my camera use on two previous neighborhood outings was not enough to demand recharging its battery. But I went through some anxiety concerning those. I was wrong.
