Luckily, I have a coworker who volunteers with Seattle Purebred Rescue. Apparently, she had received the same email from someone else and she had contacted Seattle Purebred Rescue to speak to the Lab rep for help. It morphs in dates and circumstances to make it sound like a local rescue. Why would someone do this?

They might also have the misconception that pets are shelters might be there because there was a problem with the animal. In fact, most pets end up in shelters not because of any problem pet behavior, but because an owner died, moved, or simply didn’t have the time or money to care for the animal.

Save $$: Up to $500 or more depending on animal and breed. Save the Planet: Adopting a shelter pet not only saves a life, but it reduces demand for purebred animals, which are more likely to have medical problems due to genetic abnormalities. Good for You: Adopting an orphaned animal keeps it from having to be euthanized.

No dog is happier to be rescued. After all, dogs have the longest history of co-habitation with humans of any animal. Yup, I was rescued in Africa. Without being rescued, how long do dogs survive on the streets? When you rescue a street dog, you stop that cycle. That’s some serious rescuing!
