Birding Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China

Menglun in Xishuangbanna is less than 50 km away from the Chinese border to Laos and Myanmar, and it has a big botanical garden. Predictably, the flowers attract several species of sunbirds. Apparently, many bird species have employed the same concept as me for a long time. To me, this often misses the point.

Birding Hongbenghe, Yunnan (Part 2)

Interestingly, these juveniles look more similar to another species, the Pale-billed Parrotbill, than the adult babblers – and they sometimes are part of the same flock. Birding Nabang, Yunnan (1)

Nabang is a town in Yingjiang county, Yunnan province, China – it is right on the border with Myanmar (there actually is a border crossing more or less right inside Nabang). Though my expertise regarding another animal species – homo sapiens – leads me to believe that this show-offish pose indicates a male bird).
