I'm no fan of McDonalds, but any little bit of help is progress. The McDonald’s Corporation said on Monday that it would begin working with its pork suppliers to phase out the use of so-called gestational crates, the tiny stalls in which sows are housed while pregnant. Here's an excerpt.

Rather, the film’s virtues are located in the sheer beauty of some of the shots, not only of the photogenic main subject but of all manner of mountain birds and animals, and of the landscape itself. The undoubted highlight, though, was the trip to Neuschwanstein. The pacing is staid, and surprises are few. No blockbuster, this.

Pros – it can kill you (like most proper Australian animals), is essentially a dinosaur. The Torresian Crow – by Richard McDonald CC. A better choice than the Emu, this dumb flightless bird is slightly smaller but makes up for it by basically being a large living velociraptor. Cons – is almost extinct.

In my earlier post "Children and Heart Disease" available here , I noted that, in the seventh and final edition of Dr. Spock's Baby and Child Care: A Handbook for Parents of the Developing Child from Birth to Adolescence , Dr. Benjamin Spock no longer recommends feeding animal products to children after two years of age. The answer is "Yes."
