If it doesn’t find enough to eat, it might become too tired to watch for predators and be snatched up by a domestic cat or any number of animals that are always watching, eternally waiting for an easy lunch. Smaller frogs and toads, mice, bugs, worms, dog food, and carrion, you name it. Bay-breasted Warblers have to be careful.

This bird is 3 inches long, lives in the darkest part of the jungle understory of Costa Rica, and never sits still! For shear beauty and color, it would be hard to ever find a more amazing group of birds that we found in Costa Rica. We spent a total of 22 days in Costa Rica, with 15 of those days spent truly birding.

Having mobility issues, I still remember birding from a van along a rather productive dirt road in Costa Rica ( Broad-billed Motmot , Lineated Woodpecker , Cocoa Woodcreeper , etc.), stayed to rrroar to the locals, also visit their homesteads, to see which races of domestic animals they breed, etc. At some stage they stopped.

When dogs were tied with sausages>a very long time ago (Spanish, Uruguay). A dog’s fart>nonsense (Chinese).

There’s just one thing: where to leave your cat(s) and dog(s)? For dogs, look for a kennel that offers multiple walks a day plus play time (you may have to pay extra for some of these features). For cats, there needs to be a space separate from the dogs that provides ample room for them to move around. Enjoy your trip!
