I caught traveler’s diarrhea four days ago in the jungle (Imodium to the rescue, but just barely). I had never been to Colombia before so didn’t know the best birding spots in the vicinity of the capital. What’s more, they host quite a number of endemics, both animal and plant. Oh yeah, I almost forgot.

As Chilean officials and volunteers rescued 17 birds they noticed the birds were foaming from the beak. Andean condors are vultures and feed exclusively on “carrion” dead animals. It is true that condors eat dead animals. Other birds were seen crash landing. Another sick condor and two dead ones were found nearby.

Four lions, rescued by Animal Defenders International (ADI) from a Bolivian circus when the country banned the use of animals in circuses have a new home, and a life of luxury at the ARK 2000 sanctuary in Calaveras County. As with every animal at PAWS, we are committed to providing life-time care.
