Michelle Basso was a researcher at the University of Wisconsin who worked with primates. She testified in favor of the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act in front of the House Judiciary Committee. Now, she's been suspended from working with animals.

I live in Seattle and I am always skeptical of how the UW treats its lab animals. I had never heard of the use of ferrets in medical research though. The UW has been cited in the past for deficiencies in animal research, including allowing a monkey to starve in 2009. News to me. Full story in the Seattle Times.
