I can’t help noticing that you’ve just posted an angry story about Cecil the Lion on your timeline. And that lions are really cute. Cecil the Lion reached millions, and it exploded all over my social media in a way few conservation stories do (even with my social media heavily biased towards conservation).

The next argument is usually something along the lines of: But animals in the wild might starve to death, and get injured, maimed or killed by predators! And before any hunter can blurt out "Have you ever seen a deer die of starvation in the woods? Whether lions can do that or not is not something I think about. It's not pretty.
