The Congo Basin is the only place to shelter all three subspecies of gorilla: the Western Lowland Gorilla, the Eastern Lowland Gorilla and the endangered Mountain Gorilla. Mammals include Western Lowland Gorilla, Forest Elephant and Forest Buffalo, and eleven diurnal primates.
