Play the silly word game my spouse and I came up with: "The Lazy Naturalist"

Reddit Animals

It was a lazier naturalist who saw a long, skinny, scaly lizard with black and brown stripes and tiny teeth and called it an "Alligator Lizard" Even more lazily named is the tarantula hawk wasp, which is (1) not a tarantula, and (2) not a hawk. Entries like "sea horse" and "guinea pig" earn 1 bonus point only.

On Teaching Children

Animal Person

Are the kids cooking monkey, cat, dog, alligator or turtle? Perhaps they are taught that other cultures eat animals other than cows, chickens, fish and pigs, I don't know. For me, the focus on culture and tradition is basically an excuse for "anything goes" when it comes to animals. But I bet anything doesn't go.
