Gators can have fun, alligators aren't stupid, they can have fun as they along with other crocodilians will give each other piggy back rides, one alligator was seen repeatingly throwing a foot ball that landed in his pond, and another was playing with river otters. Just some facts I think are interesting to share with :).

It was a lazier naturalist who saw a long, skinny, scaly lizard with black and brown stripes and tiny teeth and called it an "Alligator Lizard" Even more lazily named is the tarantula hawk wasp, which is (1) not a tarantula, and (2) not a hawk. Entries like "sea horse" and "guinea pig" earn 1 bonus point only.

Turns out, Monday brought more than a little rain, and we got soaked as we explored the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge and the Currituck National Wildlife Refuge along the ocean. The horse flies were also out in full force, and we scurried down the hot trail and back to the car in our efforts to escape.
