The sky cracked open as we ascended into the modest hills of Trinidad’s Northern Range. Alas, he was gone before I had a chance to lift my camera. It glared at something in the leaf litter (is there any other way raptors look at anything?) As we say here, de road wash ‘wey. But certainly not impossible.

Bear in mind that the year thus far is supposed to be the dry season, as outlined previously. Alas, nothing showed until there was a brief break in the shower and a Golden-crowned Warbler materialized in the leaf litter just in front of me. Not only that, but we were under our third adverse weather advisory for the year.
