The air was cooler in the Redwood Grove than the surrounding, sunlit areas of the San Francisco Botanical Garden. Nest-building must have been on their agenda, for they hopped this way and that with delicate moss bits hanging from their tiny beaks.

Back from the West!

10,000 Birds

After sixteen days touring the interior west and west coast of the United States with my family I am back in New York City. The birds weren’t high on the agenda while we were in Wyoming but I still managed to see some. I didn’t have much light to work with but a male Western Tanager can’t be ignored.
