The air was cooler in the Redwood Grove than the surrounding, sunlit areas of the San Francisco Botanical Garden. Nest-building must have been on their agenda, for they hopped this way and that with delicate moss bits hanging from their tiny beaks.

Back from the West!

The birds weren’t high on the agenda while we were in Wyoming but I still managed to see some. Then Daisy and I spent the afternoon being tourists in San Francisco before I dropped her at the airport that evening. I didn’t have much light to work with but a male Western Tanager can’t be ignored.
