Over at Animal Rights and AntiOppression , we’ve been discussing tactics and sharing our thoughts and experiences about what works and doesn’t work when it comes to advocacy. The research, much of the time, doesn’t support the conventional wisdom (which is not to say the case is closed on any issue). But I’m merely making his point.

Its goal was to limit the greedy collecting of birds killed for the plume trade, the bird meat trade (as in the wholesale slaughter of the Passenger Pigeon), and for sport (again, the Passenger Pigeon and declining numbers of waterfowl). Congress and Senate who recognized the need to protect the birds.
