Officially adopted as the state bird in 1949 , the Greater Roadrunner was once known as the “Chaparral Bird.” Their impressive speed is used for hunting, and roadrunners will eat almost anything that moves. Rattlesnakes are fair game, as are other reptiles, scorpions, frogs, birds, and insects.

When you throw the feral Cat in there, not only do they push out the indigenous wild carnivores, but they are hunting animals that are not quite adapted to avoiding them as well as they may be to avoiding other animals. Be prepared to take one (or several) in and work towards removal and adoption.
