Long before that time Mexican domesticated Turkeys had been adopted by Native Americans in the American Southwest as well. It is possible that Columbus brought Turkeys back to Spain, but if he did, he did not bring them from the Caribbean Islands he spent much of his time in, because they did not exist there.
