Then I had an idea – a post based on birds starting with the same letter. I was just wondering about another topic for a post. Are you still with me?

When dealing with competitors on the beach they adopt a wings out position known as the beachmaster, similar to what I saw these squabbling birds doing out at sea. On land their diet is dominated bu birds, predominately penguins. Younger birds, like the one in the centre of this image, are darker than the adults.

The style has been adopted enthusiastically by contemporary craft brewers, so there are a lot of creative variations out there on the delicious but austere originals. I don’t know of any other association with birds beyond the label, so I’m inclined just to move on to the tasting notes because there’s a lot to cover in this one.
