5K Run/Walk, Kid’s Fun Run and Adoption Celebration. Each year these groups combined, rescue and find homes for over 2,000 abandoned Southland dogs and cats, animals that most likely would otherwise have lost their lives. 4th ANNUAL “RACE FOR THE RESCUES” FUNDRASIER. NEW JERSEY – Animal shelters are full, they have no space, they often have no money, and they have a small amount of dedicated volunteers. There is an estimated 3-4million pets euthanized each year in US animal shelters. There is a strong lack of homes willing to open their doors to fostering a shelter pet.
