Since it was the first link in this chain, Pino Real was where I met many of Michoacán’s flagship species. As I look back at my eBird species list, it is astonishing how many of my lifers were first seen there. By 2019, I couldn’t take it any more, and I stopped visiting Pino Real. That chain continues to this day.
