A paper on breeding of the species was actually researched right here at Wawushan. By 2013, this ratio had increased to 7.2 ( source ). Indeed, positive assortative mating, based on culmen length, tarsus length, and body mass, was found across breeding pairs. Unfortunately, their overall nesting success was only 18%.
