Bald Eagle, Head Portraits, Birds of Prey of the East. Like most regional bird guides, the Mississippi River is the line of demarcation. Bald Eagle has been moved next to Golden Eagle. And, Eagles, surprisingly, don’t either, the emphasis being on their heads, tails, and how they look in flight.

According to the authors of the Mississippi and Atlantic Flyway Council’s joint management plan, there are many problems with the current survey count methods and further studies are needed. Maybe it was a version of the Mississippi River, maybe it was a version of the Warren River, likely both. A good way up one of the tallest pines is an Eagle’s nest. Every year there manage to be two eagles up there in that nest. Ducks are easier prey for the Eagle. Earlier this year a neighbor saw an Eagle take a Loon.
