Tristan could certainly use a better year, though his BBOTY was a pretty good one – and he too did not get a photo but he found an illustration: By the end of October, things were looking pretty grim for my ten-year stretch of recording at least one life bird each year, a streak I’ve maintained since I began keeping a life list in 2010.
