Here are the tips and stats that they sent us: Nearly 2,900 letter carriers were bitten by dogs last year, yet that pales in comparison to the 4.7 Don’t approach a strange dog, especially one that’s tethered or confined. That is, not until we got an email from the USPS. Now that we know, we are happy to spread the word.

So this is Christmas

A couple of days ago, my end of the world started to tip back towards the Sun. Or they called at us from dog teams tethered on the ice, too busy stealing food to have a closer look. In six weeks it will have tilted enough that the Sun will peek over the horizon for the first time since November. Christmas up here is a busy season.
