I did that with Peacocks & Picathartes – Reflections on Africa’s birdlife (published by Penguin Random House South Africa ). And apart from local people, primate researchers sometimes spot it, but it is a species seen by fewer than ten living birders. Day after day went by, with much sound but no sight of the peacocks.

And it raises a question: if all the birds are having a party over there, am I in the wrong spot? I live in the southeast of Europe, for a while lived in the south of Africa and also have extensively birded western and central India. And where all those birds are? Map by BirdLife International.

Fish and Wildlife Service has listed the “Rufa” population of Red Knot ( Calidris canutus rufa ) as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). migration corridors from Argentina in the Southern tip of South America to Canada. Birds in Delaware Bay.
