They look crap but presumably offer some protection for the chicks, though not from each other (see the murderous activities within the nests in my previous post ). On one occasion, he tried catching a cobra by the tail and got bitten on the tip of finger which he slashed with a pocket knife. At between 4 pm and 6 pm, to be exact.
