Now, any medication we take and surgical procedures we undergo also have a long line of breeding, enslavement, torture and killing of sentient nonhumans leading up to them, so objecting to "knockout animals" on those grounds is to stand on somewhat thin ice. That action is to opt out and go vegan.

March 27, 2007 To the Editor: Livestock producers raise their animals under humane standards and under the care of a veterinarian. This issue is an important one and needs to be talked about.
