I'm worried if I call animal control and put in some type of neglect complaint that they would get taken and put down. Does anyone know what the process is after I make a call to animal control ? If they do get taken away do I have any authority to take them to a rescue place that I know for sure won't put them down ?

Some were abused or neglected. That at least would be a start till our society puts a higher value on the lives and existence of our furry friends, till the law stands up for our 4-legged buddies, till shelters are no longer overflowing with the unwanted. For an adopter, it makes the process a little easier.
