For some people, it is inhumane to eat meat in any situation, no matter how well the animal is treated prior to and during slaughter. In my opinion, the crux of the question touches on what is “humane.” Different people have different interpretations of that word depending on a number of factors. This is mass production.

And it certainly doesn't follow that it is permissible to eat meat that comes from animals who were forced to endure horribly inhumane factory farm conditions and who were then slaughtered inhumanely. are raised in cruel, inhumane factory farms. That's one more reason to forego the Christmas Turkey or Ham this year.
