Here I’ll finish off what I started, looking at the lives of these amazing birds, using the pictures I took working on Tern Island in French Frigate Shoals, Hawaii. My boss on French Frigate Shoals performed a study on their movements, catching and marking them with wing tags. Male coming into land at nest.

On my first visit to the island a few years ago I even found one hunting for sandhoppers and other assorted treats in the washed up seaweed on the beach.
