Unlike birds, they do not vocalize; unlike butterflies, they are totally predatory, not a vegetarian amongst them. The Natural History section points out that Red-tailed Pennants hold their wings flat or slightly lowered, while the skimmers tend to raise their wings. I am going with the Red-tailed Pennant identification for now.
