Then I noticed that several family members were also nursing bleeding wounds. The whole process had taken four hours. I didn’t have high hopes for Fizzle’s survival, but I called animal control and learned that they had taken Fizzle to a shelter about ten miles away. I gave the shelter a call, expecting to hear the worst.
