A crest is a “comb or tuft of feathers, fur, or skin on the head of a bird or other animal” Birds use them for display purposes – they can be either recumbent (not noticeable when not erect) or recursive (noticeable in all states). Quite a few bird species have crests.

24 Hours (or so) in Kuala Lumpur

The first of these was in the fine capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. Finally my luck changed in the form of a troop of Silvered Langurs , a lovely species of leaf-monkey with dark black fur that contrasts astonishingly with the bright orange fur of youngsters.
