The meat industry will say yes, of course, all animals are treated and killed humanely. I highly recommend Farm Sanctuary's issue page.short and to the point.) There are probably no happy animals in factory farming (ie. Factory farming is not conducive to quick, clean, and painless kills. Here is my opinion.

Says DeGeneres: “Did you know that every year between 250 and 300 million turkeys are bred for slaughter in the United States? Elizabeth, who demurs “This Thanksgiving, give a turkey the royal treatment;”.
