Some 40 km north of Belgrade, Serbia, I am driving to the very end of an oxbow lake with the intention of looking for the Ruddy Shelducks ( Tadorna ferruginea ) that were found here the day before. Ruddy Shelducks do not normally show up in Serbia. And finally, a few years back, I got them in India – at every other wetland.
