There were birders from a wide cross-section of the United States: Colorado, Ohio, Idaho, Iowa, Wyoming, Washington State, Pennsylvania, New York State, New Jersey, California, Texas, Florida. Betty’s Bay was also a great place to see all of South Africa’s cormorant species, including the endangered Bank Cormorant.

Indeed, can you truly experience the wonder of nature from the confines of a vehicle? This Swainson’s Hawk was photographed above a gas station in Idaho. This is what we have to remember: - Many species are easier to observe at close range from a vehicle than on foot. - The weight of my argument crushes all others.
