On the short list of wins for wildlife during the Bush II era, Short-tailed Albatross were officially listed as Endangered in 2000.

What could motivate gunmen (I cannot call them hunters) in two states to deliberately kill North America’s tallest and most critically endangered bird? It may be as sick as deliberately targeting an endangered species for death. So we can squawk at the state wildlife departments all we want, but the USFWS has the final say.

Together with colleagues, Hicks was able to take in five orphaned chimpanzees who will soon be sent to a sanctuary in eastern Congo. Tags: chimpanzees poaching congo endangered species. Since Hicks left in November 2008, his colleagues Laura Darby and Adam Singh have observed another seven chimpanzee orphans and 3 carcasses.
