This is the home of the Rusty-naped Pitta , admittedly one of the less glamorous of the family, particularly the subspecies found in Yunnan, but still a nice sight and still a pitta. Quite possibly, this laughingthrush is now locally extinct in Switzerland or at least in Basel.

In particular they evoke the New Hampshire lake my extended family descends upon each summer and has done so from before I was born.
