African Harrier-Hawks, snakes and other predators frequently raid weaver colonies to rob the nests of eggs and chicks. Their nests are also a messy structure due to protective thorns on the outside, but the interior is constructed of softer grasses. The White-browed Sparrow-Weaver is the most common and most widespread of its genus.
