Weavers
10,000 Birds
OCTOBER 9, 2012
African Harrier-Hawks, snakes and other predators frequently raid weaver colonies to rob the nests of eggs and chicks. Some of the malimbes forage in nuthatch or woodpecker fashion along trunks and branches of rainforest trees and they are frequent members of bird parties. These nests can weight up to 1 ton!
