The University of Puerto Rico, an "1862" LGU founded in 1900, operates a slaughter facility killing small ruminants -- typically goats and sheep, cattle being large ruminants. Achieving humane treatment of animals is inconceivable with our big, popular universities teaching the opposite!

There's a vague sense that perhaps he cares about the dogs or thinks that what he does to them might present an ethical dilemma, but the overwhelming feeling is that it's all worth it. It "guarantees humane treatment?" Medical schools, in particular, made ample use of them for education and research in surgery and cardiology."
