I was amused to read Sara Jentsch’s recent diatribe on gulls: Why I despise Seagulls: A Tale of Humiliation. It was encouraging to discover that it’s not just in Britain that these feathered urban terrorists swoop down on unsuspecting tourists to relieve them of their crêpes, ice cream or chips.

rat/mouse diseases.?? I saw a rat/mouse thing like 3 days ago which means there are probably more. There are little scratch type things on my hand and i’m worried they are bites. I know rabies is practically non existent with them (which is rlly good) but I learned there’s something called rat bite fever and other diseases you can get. I now feel like I have a fever and i’m at work so there’s no thermometer it’s not like unbearable but I feel a bit hot and honestly can’t tell if it’s psychosomat

This baby bird fell out of its nest during a super windy day, the nest also fell out of the tree with the bird. I cannot tell if he is injured, the tree is way too high to him put back with the nest. What should i do for him?

People have a tendency to confuse pigs, pigeons, dogs, gorillas, and monkeys dumb, and I don't understand it. Those are most of the animals called dumb and in reality they are very intelligent. It's not unlikely to hear the phrase "pigeon brain" or "I'm dumber than a monkey." Why do people have such a common misconception?
