Most moral vegetarians list fish and fowl as animals one should not eat. Scientific research and expertise are needed here. Second, there are other species besides human beings that have high intelligence, e.g., chimpanzees and dolphins. Clearly, cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, and fish do not consent to being eaten.
