ASPCA , Joplin Humane Society to Host Weekend Adopt-a-thon for Joplin Tornado Pets. Nearly 600 cats and dogs looking for permanent homes during major pet adoption event June 25 – 26. To date, the ASPCA has provided emergency sheltering for approximately 1,300 animals.

Each year these groups combined, rescue and find homes for over 2,000 abandoned Southland dogs and cats, animals that most likely would otherwise have lost their lives. This means less dogs and cats can be saved. But until we can make that a reality, it is our responsibility to care for all of the animals.
