After I picked Jethro from the Boulder Humane Society and brought him to my mountain home, I knew he was a very special dog. He never chased the rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, or deer who regularly visited. An animal control officer said it was clear the dog was trying to defend the woman, whom he didn’t know.
