Jean Kazez Dallas, Nov. If we are not justified in eating mackerel ourselves, are we not also morally obligated to stop the slaughter brought on by the tuna? He’s right: I don’t care deeply about the suffering of animals I eat, wear or otherwise benefit from. Suffering and injustice are inherent in life, and time is short.
