Abby, I too get very upset by stories and images of what occurs every second of every day to nonhumans and humans alike. In other words, I don't immerse myself in animal cruelty. And I know that, for instance, I simply don't have the skill set to be an undercover person who documents abuse. Because I would have a breakdown.

He clearly thinks that it is wrong to cause animals to suffer unnecessarily, but he appears to be somewhat ambivalent about killing animals (provided the killing is carried out humanely).
