Join Best Friends Animal Society for the annual No More Homeless Pets National Conference, October 23-25, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Each year, five million healthy, adoptable homeless pets are still being put down. Three days of action oriented training, inspiration and, of course, fun with Best Friends.

One of those is vet bills, which of course aren't deductible, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't know the total. I'm doing my best in an imperfect world to respect the rights of other sentients, and I have heard vegans say that sanctuaries--and not pet ownership--will be the only way out of subjugation for cats and dogs.

There were 15 greyhounds in the small pet food store, and Violet and Stanley were equally uninterested in the event. Sky petted Stanley and he just stood there. Of course not; that's serious business. If you want to give a life-long home to a homeless, domesticated animal and you are fully capable of doing so, fantastic!
