We have photographs and newspaper obituaries of Martha, the last living Passenger Pigeon, who died after a lifetime in captivity, mostly in the Cincinnati Zoo. What is amazing is that each of these three books is very different in content and tone. We have a lot of source material. And there is nothing we can do about it.
