On March 11th, RPA sent the governors of all 50 states a letter and two factsheets urging them to help get their land-grant universities (LGUs) out of the meat industry. Take a moment to tell your governor you agree we must get our LGUs out of the meat industry. Below is a press release about the mailing.

The meat industry will say yes, of course, all animals are treated and killed humanely. And if you ever drive around an egg farm, hog farm, slaughterhouse, feeding lot, etc., You are not processing their wellbeing, but their carcasses for meat. Livestock don’t contribute to campaigns, but agribusiness does.

But then again, it could be due to the fact that we are constantly bombarded with billion-dollar advertising campaigns from the meat industries, the dairy industry, and the egg industry, as well as from myriad restaurant chains that promote and sell these very animal products.
